Ana María Bejarano 

Ana María Bejarano was an Associate Professor in the department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. She authored Precarious Democracies: Understanding Regime Stability and Change in Colombia and Venezuela (University of Notre Dame Press, 2011) and was co-editor of The Crisis of Democratic Representation in the Andes (Stanford University Press, 2006) along with S. Mainwaring and E. Pizarro. Originally from Colombia, her research focused on the democratization of the Andes Region, and her contributions to the study of Latin America touched many.

Ana María was Director of Latin American Studies in 2011-12.
